Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Deepskim ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Deepskim is operated by Deepskim ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

Deepskim is an AI-powered video processing tool that identifies potential short-form clips from longer videos. The Service uses automated analysis including speech recognition, face detection, and language models to suggest clips, apply cropping, and add captions.

Important disclaimers:

  • The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. It is not a professional video editing suite and should not be treated as one.
  • AI-generated results (clip selection, captions, face tracking, crop positioning) are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or error-free.
  • Captions are auto-generated and may contain errors, mistranscriptions, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing all output before publishing.
  • The Service may produce unexpected results, crop incorrectly, miss important content, or misidentify speakers.
  • We do not guarantee uptime, processing speed, or availability. The Service may experience downtime, bugs, or interruptions without notice.

3. Accounts and Billing

A valid payment method (credit or debit card) is required to use the Service, including the free tier. This is an anti-abuse measure.

  • Free tier: Limited video processing minutes and clips per billing period. No charge.
  • Pro tier: Paid monthly subscription with higher limits. Billed automatically via Stripe.
  • Usage limits reset at the start of each billing period.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.
  • Each payment method should only be used with one account. We may suspend accounts that appear to circumvent free tier limits.

4. Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the videos you upload and the clips generated from them. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any video content.
  • You must not upload content that infringes on third-party copyrights, contains illegal material, or violates any applicable law.
  • We temporarily store your video files for processing and delete source videos after processing is complete. Generated clips are stored until you delete them or your account is terminated.
  • We do not use your content to train AI models.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or interfere with the Service
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
  • Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise our infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without refund.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deepskim and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or content, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

The Service processes video using AI and automated systems. We are not responsible for inaccurate results, poor quality output, or any consequences of publishing AI-generated content without review.

7. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
